Find the right therapist - Your first step towards a happier and healthier you.

You have tried toughing it out, “forgetting” about it, and doing the best you could to cope but the relief you experience is only temporary and you can’t seem to shake off the negative feelings. Overtime your mind is consumed with negative thoughts and ruminations. You try to be strong and fulfill your daily activities as usual but mentally and physically you feel drained.

Or perhaps you have therapy in the past and didn’t find it beneficial. You are tired of sharing your story over and over and not experiencing any substantial transformation.

Meet Your Therapist

Ching Lei Linda Chi - Oklahoma & Texas Therapist

My passion for counseling is driven by a desire to help individuals uncover happiness within themselves and their lives. Over the course of my 20-year career, I have had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences, in a range of settings including outpatient, inpatient, and correctional facilities. I have observed that individuals frequently face challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse. Consequently, I have dedicated myself to helping individuals heal from these issues.

Together we will uncover the root causes of your struggles, identify recurring patterns and behaviors that may be holding you back, learn practical skills and techniques to effectively navigate your mental health in the long run. My dedication lies in creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions, and feel genuinely understood. Your openness to learn, introspect, and commitment to therapy are essential for attaining favorable results. Should you find that our therapy is not yielding the desired outcomes, I will gladly provide referrals to other therapists who may better suit your needs.

Through my extensive training in various therapeutic approaches, I have found EMDR therapy and TEAM-CBT to be highly effective treatment options for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma.

TEAM-CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) rooted in the belief that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. Negative or distorted thinking patterns can contribute to anxiety, depression, and a host of other mental health issues. CBT provides a structured framework for the therapist and the client work together to explore and modify unhealthy patterns of thinking and behavior. With its evidence-based techniques, CBT equips individuals with the necessary tools/coping skills to overcome a wide range of psychological challenges that can be utilized beyond therapy sessions.

TEAM stands for four crucial ingredients of effective therapy known to improve treatment outcomes: Testing, Empathy, Agenda Setting, and Methods. TEAM-CBT is proven to be more effective than traditional therapy so you can feel better faster.

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an evidence-based treatment founded on the idea that traumatic experiences can become "stuck" in a person's memory network and continue to trigger distressing symptoms long after the event has occurred. EMDR therapy helps individuals to reprocess traumatic memories in the brain by using a structured eight-phase approach. This includes identifying the target memory, associations, and related emotions, as well as using bilateral stimulation such as eye movements, hand tapping, or auditory tones to facilitate the processing of these memories. EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies.

Please schedule a complimentary 15-minute video or phone consultation so we can discuss your symptoms and needs.

You must reside in Oklahoma or Texas for our therapy sessions. I am unable to provide psychotherapy to individuals who are court mandated or require a higher level of care, i.e. residential/ inpatient treatment. In addition, I am unable to provide evaluation for fitness for duty, custody cases or disability claims.

Currently, I am not taking on clients who might request testimonials or therapy records for any court cases in the future. This policy is in place to uphold the confidentiality and trust that are crucial in the therapeutic relationship. It also helps to avoid any potential conflicts that may arise from legal involvement.

HOW OFTEN DO WE MEET?

Weekly therapy sessions are optimal for the type of therapy I provide. Weekly sessions offer several advantages, including greater impact, increased therapeutic gains, and more cost-effective for you over time. Research indicates that receiving treatment less frequently, such as having fewer than one session per week, leads to less favorable outcomes. By scheduling weekly sessions, we can promptly address any challenges or new issues that may arise. My ultimate goal is for you to experience faster relief and make tangible progress so you do not have to stay in therapy forever!

MAXIMIZING YOUR ONLINE THERAPY VISIT

You will need a video-enabled device with a microphone and internet connection, such as a computer or tablet. Cell phone is suitable for our initial 15-minute video consultation but is not ideal for therapy sessions. With CBT approach, I frequently utilize screen sharing and introduce techniques through handouts and worksheet, so using a computer or tablet would be more beneficial for you. For EMDR therapy, a larger screen is ideal for visual bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements.
